Have you dreamed of working from home but don't have the space? Well look no further! This modular studio offers an innovative and beautiful way to achieve the dream.
Ecospace Studios create sustainable living and working spaces that are so beautifully designed you'll want to move out of your home and into one of their contemporary modular studios pronto! Our recent collaboration left us in awe of their skills (as you'll see in the finished product) but also their ethos. Ecospace developed their concept almost 15 years ago "in response to the environmental, economic and space issues we face today." It's increasingly important issues like these that lie close to our heart.
When we were approached by design agency 24SQ to provide the furnishings for this Surrey property, we knew straight away we wanted to be involved. We loved Ecospace's aim of creating high quality sustainable buildings at a fixed cost, completed within a short timescale. Ecospace have reaped a number of awards and accolades and if you like thoughtful, modern design with simple, creative flair you'll see why.
Ecospace® is managed by IPT Architects – a London based award-winning chartered architectural practice. They created this live/work studio in Surrey and we furnished it with pieces carefully selected to enhance the design of the building and the lifestyle of those who use the space. 24SQ worked with super interiors photographer Ben Benoliel to style and photograph the space.
The Ecospaces start at around £10,000 for a single workpod that could replace your garden shed but can also be made as compact living spaces or more spacious homes. Check out the configurator page to find the one that suits you. In this image you can see our new, exclusive Edge dining table in white Fenix + solid white oiled oak. These tables can be made to measure in many colours. The Fenix is a robust material with fantastic qualities and great, low reflection colours. The Bok chair with its curves complement the shapely legs on the table but is also superbly comfortable.
The bedroom in the background is home to our Skye bed with its blind buttoned headboard and optional underbed storage. Shame that our Como desk is only peeking out of this image but check it out on our website for more info - made of Fenix + solid oak it has hidden storage under the Fenix 'blotter'. Also just visible is our Shadow sideboard in solid oak, topped off (literally!) by the Mantis table lamp in black. The small copper plated + oak side tables hold a variety of hammered vessels.
The interior walls and surfaces of the Ecospaces can be made from a variety of materials like birchwood or white washed timber panels, orientated strand board (for a more industrial feel) or white painted gypsum plasterboard. So there are lots of options. We love options.
Just visible above is our Dakota sofa in a turquoise cotton & linen mix. This sofa comes in different sizes and hundreds of our colours or a custom fabric of your choice.
Of course the Ecospaces tick all the energy saving boxes but there are extras in the form of underfloor heating, optional air-sourced heat pumps, log burning or bio-mass stoves. So what's the best thing about these spaces? Well the fact that you can get them designed in 8-12 weeks and installed in around 5 days is pretty amazing!
This project is featured by Design Boom and Curbed so you can see more details there. But by all means check out Ecopace to immerse yourself fully and get your creative juices flowing. You can find out more about 24SQ who coordinated this collaboration - they were a joy to work with and we hope to see more of them in the future! Thanks to everyone involved!
