Natural fibres go well with our skin. They transport humidity away from the body and work in harmony with our bodies’ own system of temperature control. With this in mind, the natural pocket luxury mattress has been constructed using four natural fibres around a core of hand nested pocket springs, each doing its job to provide either comfort or support.
Handmade in London by experienced craftsmen, this mattress has a hand nested 1000 count pocket sprung system packed with layers of natural fillings: Coir (coconut fibre), cotton, lambswool and horsehair. This mattress is 21cm deep, side supported and upholstered in a cotton cover. Hand tufted with brass air vents and fitted with flag stitched handles for turning purposes. Guaranteed for 10 years - we recommend using a mattress protector with all mattresses and turning them regularly (monthly in the first 3 months and every 3 months after that).
This cover meets British fire regulations with a special FR treatment that uses green chemistry derived from entirely natural elements and is completely solvent free. It provides a soft handle and is readily biodegradable. Importantly it is ph neutral to protect the physical properties of the material such as tensile and tear strength. This treatment meets all European Legislation in that it is APEO free, Halogen free and non-brominated. The flame retardant and anti-microbial treatments that we use are produced in West Yorkshire.
